RABAT – Cameroon are the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations champions after a commanding 3-0 victory over tournament debutants Malawi at the Moulay El Hassan Stadium, finally ending their long wait for a first continental title.
The Indomitable Lionesses put on a first-half masterclass. Marie Gisèle Ngah Manga opened the scoring in the 20th minute. Naomie Eto then doubled the lead in the 30th minute with a spectacular volley. Just as the first half was closing, Eto turned provider for Ngah Manga to head home her second, sealing a 3-0 halftime lead.
Malawi, who had scored a tournament-high 12 goals entering the final, were rendered toothless by a disciplined Cameroonian defense. The Chawinga sisters were effectively neutralized as Cameroon’s midfield dominated possession.

They become just the fourth nation to win the title and receive $2 million in prize money. For Malawi, the fairytale debut ends in heartbreak, but their historic campaign will be remembered. Both teams have already secured qualification for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup
