The Nigeria Premier Football League has ended a decade-long title sponsorship drought by signing a $7.5 million agreement with Poland-based investment group EuroMatch .
The three-year deal, unveiled on Wednesday in Abuja ahead of the 2026/27 season which begins Friday, is valued at $2.5 million annually . Sixty percent of the yearly proceeds, amounting to $1.5 million, will be allocated to the league’s 20 clubs .
NPFL Chairman Gbenga Elegbeleye said the partnership would positively impact players’ salaries and welfare: “What we need is more visibility for the league. Every season we are going to get about $2.5m from EuroMatch for three years… That will help us in increasing the players’ wages” .

EuroMatch Group Chairman Sadi Semih described the agreement as a strategic investment in Nigerian football, committing to deliver sustainable value and increased international visibility for the league .
The sponsorship marks the return of a title sponsor to Nigeria’s top-flight league for the first time since Globacom’s sponsorship ended in 2016 . The new campaign kicks off Friday with a South-West derby between Shooting Stars and newly promoted Inter Lagos at the Lekan Salami Stadium .
