Since her appointment in August 2024, Engr. Jennifer Adighije, Managing Director/CEO of the Niger Delta Power Holding Company (NDPHC), has spearheaded a bold transformation focused on transparency, operational efficiency, and staff welfare.
Upon assumption, she prioritised staff welfare, securing board approval for management incentives and initiating the conversion of contract staff to direct hires. To entrench transparency, she introduced computer-based testing for promotions to ensure merit and fairness, implemented procurement reforms compliant with the Public Procurement Act, and championed technology deployment to streamline operations and boost productivity.
Her results-driven approach has yielded remarkable successes: restoring 625MW of generation capacity to the national grid, reviving six dormant gas turbines, recovering 110 abandoned containers valued at over $5 million, and reclaiming over $10 million in legacy debts. Colleagues describe her as a visionary, decisive, and transparent administrator committed to public service. Her leadership is steadily repositioning NDPHC as a more efficient, credible, and future-ready organisation.
