The National Vice-Chairman (South-South) of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Victor Giadom, on June 9th 2025 officially welcomed the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, His Excellency Umo Eno, and other prominent members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) into the APC. In his remarks he stated that the defection of the Akwa-Ibom State Governor to APC marks a significant political realignment in the South-South region.
Chief Giadom described Governor Eno’s decision as a bold and timely move that will enhance collaboration between Akwa Ibom State and the Federal Government under President Bola Tinubu. He emphasized that joining the APC would unlock greater socio-economic opportunities for the state, aligning with the Renewed Hope Agenda’s development goals.

The APC leader noted that President Tinubu’s unprecedented reforms have garnered strong support in the South-South, with more leaders and citizens embracing the party’s vision for national progress. He assured Governor Eno and his supporters of the APC’s full cooperation in delivering democratic dividends, improved governance, and a decisive victory in the 2027 elections.
Chief Giadom reiterated the party’s commitment to unity and development, urging all new members to work together for the advancement of the region and Nigeria at large.
