Telecom operator 9mobile has rebranded as T2, signaling a strategic shift toward innovation, digital transformation, and customer-centric services. CEO Obafemi Banigbe unveiled the new identity in Lagos, calling it a pivotal moment in the company’s evolution.

Acknowledging past struggles, Banigbe highlighted resilience: “Like Nigeria, we’ve bounced back stronger.” He clarified that the rebrand goes beyond aesthetics—it’s about redefining customer experience as the core of the business, focusing on simplicity and emotional connection.

Banigbe thanked customers, partners, and employees, urging Nigerians to see the rebrand as inspiration: “You, too, can reimagine and rebuild.”

Previously operating as Etisalat Nigeria, the company faced financial turmoil in 2017 after defaulting on a $1.2 billion loan, leading to its rebranding as 9mobile. With limited infrastructure and regulatory challenges, the latest transformation aims to reposition T2 for growth.
