Harris made these remarks during a media tour for her new book, which details her previous 107-day campaign. She dismissed early polls that show her trailing in a potential 2028 field, noting she has never been guided by polling data.
Compared to other prominent Democrats, Harris has taken a more measured approach to criticizing the Trump administration. However, in the interview, she argued her 2024 predictions have come true, stating the president has weaponized the Justice Department and created an authoritarian government. She also criticized corporations, media, and law firms for capitulating to Trump’s demands, a notable comment given her own husband’s law firm made a deal with the administration.
