Two children have died and five others were hospitalised in the Eastern Cape following a suspected food poisoning incident. The children, aged 4 to 7 from the Msintsi and Mdantsane areas, fell ill after reportedly sharing snacks. Tragically, two were declared dead upon arriving at hospital. Four remain under observation, with one transferred for advanced care. The Eastern Cape Department of Health has activated emergency outbreak protocols and an investigation is underway to find the source. This occurs amidst other recent provincial health alerts.
