Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan held a series of diplomatic calls on Sunday seeking an end to the conflict involving the U.S., Israel, and Iran. According to a Turkish diplomatic source, he spoke with Iranian and Egyptian counterparts, EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas, and U.S. officials.
The talks follow Fidan’s recent Gulf visit, where he attended a Riyadh meeting on regional responses to the escalating war. He noted rising confidence in Türkiye’s clear stance, saying, “We never adopted an ambivalent position.” Fidan emphasized that Ankara has been forthright with all sides about missteps regarding Iran and Gulf nations. He also warned that Gulf countries, during the Riyadh talks, signaled they may act if the current situation persists, underscoring heightened risks.
