The South African National Blood Service (SANBS) has launched its Easter Family Blood Bond initiative to motivate families to donate blood together during the long weekend.

SANBS Communications Manager Musiiwa Denga highlights the urgent need for donations, as supplies typically decline over holidays. The drive also aims to prepare for winter, when donations traditionally decrease.

“Holidays often see fewer donors, yet the demand for blood remains steady. This campaign encourages families to make a life-saving difference during this meaningful season,” says Denga. By donating together, families can help sustain blood stocks and support patients in need.
