As the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) kicks off the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise today, July 8, 2025, in preparation for the Anambra Governorship Election, INEC calls on all eligible citizens of Anambra State to take full advantage of this crucial opportunity to register and secure their right to vote.
The commission emphasizes that participation in the CVR exercise is not only a civic duty but also a vital contribution to building a stronger democracy and a brighter future for the citizens. The power to drive positive change lies in the hands of the people, and voting is the foundation of that power.
The registration exercise will be held daily from Tuesday, July 8, to Thursday, July 17, 2025, across all 326 wards in Anambra State. The process will run from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM each day, including weekends. INEC has deployed various outreach materials—such as posters, social media banners, and radio jingles—to educate the public and simplify the registration process.
The CVR targets new voters, residents who have relocated, those whose Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) are lost or damaged, and individuals who have not yet collected their PVCs. Gtvafrik encourages everyone who falls into these categories to visit the nearest registration center and complete the process.
All eligible voters are urged to engage in the exercise—whether to register, transfer, replace lost or damaged PVCs, or collect unclaimed cards. INEC stresses that only those with valid voter cards will be able to cast their votes in the 2025 governorship election.
Finally, the commission calls on Ndi Anambra to take an active role in shaping the future of their state. Every vote counts and plays a critical role in electing leaders who are accountable, development-oriented, and committed to the welfare of the people.
