YouTube is expanding a “second chance” pilot program, allowing some previously banned creators to apply to launch new channels. This initiative, first announced in September, primarily applies to creators removed for violating old COVID-19 and election integrity policies that are no longer in effect.
The program is not available to those banned for copyright infringement or severe, repeated violations. This move follows pressure from Republican leaders, including Rep. Jim Jordan, who has subpoenaed Alphabet over alleged government pressure on content moderation.
