Elon Musk has launched “Grokipedia,” an AI-powered alternative to Wikipedia. He claims the current version, 0.1, is already superior, despite Wikipedia having 7 million articles to Grokipedia’s 885,000.
The key difference lies in their creation; Wikipedia relies on human contributors, while Grokipedia’s content is entirely generated and fact-checked by Musk’s xAI Grok model. Users cannot edit articles directly but can request changes from the AI.
Musk positions the project as a challenge to what he calls Wikipedia’s “woke” bias, stating Grokipedia’s ultimate goal is the unflinching pursuit of truth, acknowledging perfection may be elusive but is the stated aim.
