In an unprecedented fusion of environmental action and economic innovation, the Eco2ruppers Festival has been announced for September 18, 2026, aiming to transform World Cleanup Day into the planet’s largest waste-to-wealth conversion effort. The initiative plans to mobilize one billion citizens across 100 countries to participate in synchronized cleanups, channeling the collective effort into a new circular economy.
Dubbed the #Free2GreenTomorrow Carnival, the movement will leverage a digital token system to reward participants and unlock an estimated $100 billion in circular impact finance. The goal is to recover 100 million tons of waste, repurposing plastic, textiles, and other materials into new products, while creating 100 million circular-economy jobs. Participants will earn “Free2Green tokens,” redeemable for healthcare, education, and other lifestyle benefits, ensuring environmental action delivers tangible social dividends.
Leadership figures have praised the campaign’s innovative, people-powered model. Ambassador Justin Duru of the Afro-Caribbean Business Network stated, “Eco2ruppers is a living testament to what can happen when global citizens rise together. It transforms the humble act of cleanup into a powerful expression of solidarity, innovation, and stewardship for the planet.”
Echoing the theme of pragmatic opportunity, Senator Ireti Heebah Kingibe, Deputy Chairperson of the Senate Committee on Ecology and Climate Change in Nigeria, said, “This initiative embodies the spirit of Africa’s climate leadership — pragmatic, people-driven, and purposeful. The festival is positioned as the culmination of a broader series of Global Green Goal events.
