A carriage dispute between Disney and YouTube TV is costing Disney over $30 million per week. Since their previous deal expired in late October, Disney channels, including ESPN and ABC, have been blacked out for YouTube TV’s 10 million subscribers.
The conflict centers on pricing, with each company blaming the other. YouTube TV refuses to pay what it deems an unfair price, while Disney claims the streaming service is undervaluing its premium content.
The stalemate leaves sports fans without access to key broadcasts like Monday Night Football and college games, along with DVR capabilities for affected channels, as negotiations continue.
