On International Day of Education 2026, aligned with the global theme “The Power of Youth in Co-Creating Education,” the COLE’ctive Initiative launched COLE2Learn in Rivers State. This platform aims to empower 230,000 young people across all 23 Local Government Areas as active co-creators of their development.

Moving beyond traditional instruction, COLE2Learn reframes education as a practical, shared civic system. It focuses on outcome-driven learning tied directly to community challenges like public health, economic inclusion, climate resilience, and security. The framework builds youth capacity in leadership, civic empowerment, enterprise skills, digital literacy, and environmental awareness, while also emphasizing inclusion and cultural values.

Delivered through community hubs, digital platforms, and peer exchanges, the programme enables learning by doing. It positions youth as drivers of development, equipping them with practical knowledge and decision-making agency. By linking education to tangible outcomes, COLE2Learn transforms learning into a pathway for self-determination, fostering economic independence, healthier communities, and greater social cohesion. It stands as a people-powered model for a more prosperous and secure Rivers State.
